Part of self-care is making sure your body is healthy. Dehydration is one of the most common physical affects of stress. Why? Because when we become stressed we often forget to take care of ourselves and our regular eating and drinking habits are disrupted. Being dehydrated can to lead to mood swings, an inability to focus, constipation, bacterial infections, or more serious health complications further adding to an already stressful situation. It is recommended you drink 30-50 ounces of fluid per day which can also include coffee, tea, or sports drinks. Create fun ways to make sure you get your fluids in such as buying a special water bottle or coffee mug. You can even use technology to help, simply schedule water breaks on your phone.
