In Memory of Maja and Oliver

Mar 27, 2017 | AFE Stories, In Memory

It is hard to believe how quickly time has passed since 21 year old Maja, loving wife to Paul, was excitedly and expectantly preparing for something she had wanted so much – to be a mother.

All who knew her were shocked and saddened when she died suddenly and unexpectedly at home. Remembering her cheeky grin, infectious laugh and passion for life made it difficult to understand what had occurred. It took months before the coroner was able to deliver a clear report pointing to the sad evidence that we had all lost Maja and baby Oliver to something so rare that even those in the medical community knew little about it.

In memory of Maja, her twin sister used her own baby shower to raise money for the AFE Foundation to help support their mission to someday prevent AFE from taking another precious mother and baby.
